Attila Atasoy is one of the most distinguished and
influential figures in Turkish music, with a career spanning more than five
decades. Originally from Marmaris and born in Milas, he began his musical
journey at the age of five with mandolin and vocal training. Throughout his
childhood and youth in Antalya and Ankara, he received extensive education in
theatre, musicals, ballet, modern dance, Turkish Folk Music and Turkish
Classical Music, forming a uniquely rich artistic foundation.
His first on-camera appearance took place in 1971 in Hıncal
Uluç’s television program Bil Bil. In 1972, he was introduced to the public as
a singer-songwriter in a music entertainment program produced by Yavuz Gökmen.
Early in his career, he performed contemporary interpretations of Turkish Folk
Music, original compositions and orchestral arrangements of Turkish Classical
Music through Ankara Radio and Television broadcasts.
Atasoy gained nationwide recognition in 1975 with his
performance of “Dilenci,” which earned second place in the Eurovision Turkey
Final. The same year, he received HEY Magazine’s “Most Promising Singer” award.
Between 1974 and the early 1980s, he released a series of iconic works,
including “Haberler,” “Sitem,” “Bir Gün Beni Ararsan,” and “Avare,”
establishing his place among the leading voices of Turkish contemporary music.

A graduate of Gazi University Faculty of Pharmacy (1975),
Atasoy opened his first pharmacy in 1982 and continued his pharmaceutical
career until 2011, successfully balancing both music and professional life.

has explored 160 countries. His travel articles were published in major
newspapers such as Hürriyet and various magazines. His travel book “Düş Peşime”
(“Follow My Dream”) was published in 2016, went into three consecutive editions
and inspired a song of the same title.
